Data stays in your browser
This browser is not saving your data. It may be a private window or a browser restriction. You can work as normal, but everything will be lost when you close the page: download the backup before you leave.
You are looking at a sample portfolio. The figures are fictional, there only to show how the tool works.

How your data is stored. Everything you enter stays in this browser's local storage and is never sent to a server. If you change device or clear your browsing data, restore it from the backup file. This tool is here to help you organise your tracking; it is not financial or tax advice.

Your copy · on your own computer

This isn't a website. It's your own file.

Everything above —the four funds, the thirty-three transactions, the history— fits into a single file that you can download and keep wherever you keep the things that matter. It opens with a double click, works offline, and asks for no account, no email address and no subscription.

This matters because you do not use this tool once and close it: it builds up years of your history. While you use it from the web, that history lives in this browser's storage, and there it is fragile: it goes if you clear your browsing data, change computer or switch browser. The file in your own folder, by contrast, is included in your backups like any other document of yours.

You are using your own copy

This file is already yours.

You opened it from your own computer, so it works offline and does not depend on this website continuing to exist. Its data is stored in this browser, tied to this file: move it to another folder and it will keep working, but it is worth downloading a backup from time to time with the button above, above all before clearing your browsing data or changing computer.

  1. Download it A single HTML file. In Documents, in your cloud drive or on a USB stick: wherever you decide.
  2. Open it with a double click It opens in your usual browser. Nothing to install, no permissions and no internet needed.
  3. Take your data with you If you have already started here: press Backup above, save the .json and load it from your own file.
  4. Log every contribution The amount is enough. You only need the net asset value when you want to update the market value.
  5. Save one snapshot a month A month-end snapshot is what feeds the history and the growth curve of your portfolio.
  6. Download a backup The .json is your safety net: it weighs a few kilobytes and restores in one click.

What leaves your computer: nothing you type. The file carries no analytics, no third-party scripts, and sends your figures to no server —there is no server to send them to—. The only thing it asks the network for is the typeface; offline it uses your system font and works exactly the same.
